Westfall Roofing: Tampa Bay’s Trusted Family Business Since 1989
Our Family Story
Kirk Westfall started this company back in 1989 with one roofing crew and big dreams. He was a passionate craftsman who saw how many homeowners got burned by fly-by-night roofers. Kirk wanted to build something different, a roofing company people could actually trust.
It all began in a tiny business complex in Tampa with just Kirk and his crew. No fancy office, no fleet of trucks, just people who knew how to fix roofs right and treated customers like family.
Kirk’s vision was simple: do quality work, treat people fairly, and be there when customers need you. That approach worked. Word spread around Tampa Bay about this roofing company that actually showed up when promised and didn’t cut corners.
Today, Kirk’s son Ryan runs a lot of the day-to-day operations. Ryan grew up around the business, officially joined after graduating from Eckerd College in 2008. He brought fresh ideas about customer service and business systems, but kept the family values that made Westfall special.
Anissa Westfall, Kirk’s wife, handles account management. This really is a family operation, three generations of Westfalls working together to serve Central Florida.
We’ve grown from that one crew to multiple locations across Florida, but we’re still family-owned and operated. Still treat every customer like they’re our neighbors. Because in many cases, they actually are.
Where We Work
Westfall Roofing covers a huge chunk of Florida from our multiple offices. We know these areas inside and out – lived here, worked here, weathered storms here.
Main Service Areas:
- Tampa Bay: Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Brandon, Plant City
- Orlando Metro: Orlando, Winter Park, Kissimmee, Sanford
- Sarasota Area: Sarasota, Bradenton, North Port, Venice
- Southwest Florida: Naples, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs
- Central Florida: Ocala, Gainesville, Lakeland
Multiple Locations: We’ve got offices in Tampa, Orlando, North Port, and Bradenton. This setup gets us to customers faster, especially during storm season.
Kirk knows exactly which neighborhoods get hit hardest during hurricanes. Which areas have the most tile roofs versus shingles. How different soil types affect foundation settling and roof stress. Thirty-five years of working the same territory teaches you things.
Commercial Flat Roofing
Central Florida businesses trust us because we understand what roof failures cost. When your roof leaks during business hours, everything stops. Inventory gets damaged. Employees can’t work. Insurance claims pile up.
Flat Roof Systems We Install:
- TPO: White membranes that reflect heat and slash cooling costs – made from 100% recyclable materials
- Modified Bitumen: Multi-layer systems that handle foot traffic and routine use exceptionally well
- EPDM: Rubber membranes perfect for low-maintenance applications
- Built-Up Roofing: Traditional systems for maximum durability
Commercial Buildings We Handle:
- Office complexes and retail centers
- Warehouses and manufacturing facilities
- Medical buildings and urgent care centers
- Educational facilities and government buildings
- Hospitality and restaurant properties
Why Businesses Choose Us: We’re not just roofers – we understand business operations. Our project managers work around your schedule to minimize disruption. Need work done over a long weekend so you don’t lose business days? We’ll make it happen.
Every commercial job gets personal attention from experienced project managers. We don’t send crews out unsupervised on business properties. Too much at stake.
TPO Advantages: Budget-conscious businesses love TPO because it delivers affordability other commercial materials can’t match. Manufactured from flexible, lightweight materials in easy-to-install wide sheets. Offers excellent energy efficiency with heat-reflective qualities and high UV resistance.
Houses and Regular Roofing
Florida homeowners face unique challenges. Daily thunderstorms all summer. Hurricane season bringing sustained winds and flying debris. That intense sun cooking roofing materials year-round.
What We Install:
- Asphalt shingles (dimensional and designer grades)
- Tile roofing (concrete and clay)
- Metal roofing (standing seam, ribbed, simulated tile)
- Flat roofing systems for modern homes
The Westfall Way: We’ve developed our own culture, values, and processes called “The Westfall Way.” This ensures we consistently deliver on our promise to protect your home. We’re reliable, detailed, and respectful of your property.
Owens Corning Platinum Preferred: We’re one of only 1% of contractors nationwide with this elite status. Gets us access to premium materials and exclusive warranties that regular contractors can’t offer.
Project Management: Every residential job gets a dedicated project manager like Hector or Lindsay. They’re on-site daily, communicate constantly, and make sure everything runs smoothly.
Insurance Claims: We work with insurance companies regularly after storm damage. Most adjusters in Central Florida know us and trust our assessments. We handle paperwork and ensure homeowners get fair settlements.
Florida Weather Expertise
Thirty-five years in Central Florida taught us how weather destroys roofs. We’ve handled the aftermath of every major hurricane that’s hit this region since 1989.
Hurricane Preparation: We stock emergency materials before storm season. When hurricanes threaten, our crews are ready with tarps, emergency repairs, and temporary protection.
Daily Storm Challenges: Central Florida gets afternoon thunderstorms almost every day in summer. Heavy rain, strong winds, occasional hail. These daily beatings add up over time. We use materials and installation methods designed for constant weather exposure.
Heat and Humidity: Attics regularly hit 140+ degrees during summer. That extreme heat expands materials until they crack. We use proper ventilation and materials rated for these conditions.
Regional Knowledge: Different areas of Central Florida face different challenges. Coastal properties deal with salt air. Orlando area gets more hail. Tampa Bay faces different wind patterns than Naples. We know these local differences.

Customer Stories
“Quality roof, excellent communication and excellent follow up.”
“Westfall wasn’t the cheapest option, but they were only about $300 more and their rep was very courteous. What convinced me was they pointed out problem areas other companies missed.”
“Their project manager Hector was excellent to work with and available throughout the entire project. Personable, knowledgeable, and able to explain things in a way a non-roofer would understand.”
“They weren’t just looking and quoting. Their guy went around the house with me. The worst quote we got was from a satellite company – measurements were accurate but no way to guess the details.”
“Westfall didn’t give us a schedule they couldn’t keep, then called to see if they could start early. Much better than scheduling a time and being late.”
